Why Did You Start Backpacking?
I started backpacking in 1993 as an escape from the realities of everyday living. I’ve found that it’s a great place to revitalize your mind and spirit.
What Advice Do You Have For New Backpackers?
Start slowly! Until you have a firm grasp and understanding of your gear, go to places close to home and test that gear and your skills.
What is your Favorite Trail?
My favorite trail is probably the Sipsey Wilderness or the PinChiSky Loop.
What was your favorite backpacking trip?
I’ve had some very memorable moments/trips in the Sipsey Wilderness and on the Pinhoti, but my favorite trip of all time was probably Maroon Bells, Wilderness, CO.
