Every year, thousands of hikers head to Trail Days in Damascus, Virginia to celebrate the Appalachian Trail . Trail Days is a town festival held in Downtown Da, VA for three days with live music, great food, Appalachian Trail thru hikers, section hikers and everyone in between. Each year during Trail Days, several hundred thru hikers will organize for a parade down main street celebrating each yearly class of hikers that have completed their journey from point to point on the Appalachian Trail.
In this video, we walk through the entire town of Damascus Virginia and showcase all things related to Trail Days including live music, parade, tent city and interviews with vendors.
While you are in Damascus, make sure to check out the Channels National Preserve. The Channels is a true hidden gem and provides an incredible panoramic view from the top next to the firetower. In addition, there are sandstone channels that you can explore within the caverns located at the top.
