The Pinhoti Mafia Overview

The Pinhoti Mafia is a private association of hikers based in Alabama and Georgia who share a passion for hiking the Pinhoti Trail. The group consists of As The Crow Flies Hiking, Metro On The Move, Gone Feral With Squidly, JBENHIKES, Leonidas On The Trail, Stretch, Senior Hiker 77 and Terry Young Outdoors. Crow created the Alabama Triple Crown and most of the Pinhoti Mafia members were part of the launch of the ATC in 2022.

Pinhoti Mafia YouTube Channels

Most of the Pinhoti Mafia have YouTube channels that showcase places to hike throughout the southeast and beyond. In addition, most of the channels provide an overview of how to and gear reviews of items to take backpacking. Make sure to check out their channels and subscribe for weekly updates.

As The Crow Flies Hiking

Crow is a hiker from Alabama and has a YouTube channel that is all about hiking, hiking gear, kayaking, and anything else that involves traveling into the woods or down a river for adventure. Every Sunday there is a new video morning released at 7 a.m. (CST). There is usually a second video on Thursday mornings as well at 7 a.m. (CST). Metro is a hiker from Georgia and on his YouTube channel you will find a collection of excellent places to hike, backpacking trips and gear reviews. Metro On The Move was created to educate individuals on the physical and mental benefits of hiking, to inspire others to reach new heights while practicing Leave no Trace principles to preserve nature for current and future generations.

Leonidas On The Trail

It’s not about the terminus, it’s about the tale. Married guy trying to stay fit and ready to hike big miles at the drop of a hat. Focusing on developing a training style that benefits my lifestyle. Currently hiking/backpacking as a way to get everyone outside and enjoy God's creation. I also enjoy the mental and physical push that hiking solo provides. Stumblelina(my wife) and I are currently section hiking the AT. I also do solo hikes where I can get out and stretch my legs and push my limits. I recently completed the Pinhoti Trail over the course of ~2 years and thru hiked the Benton MacKaye Trail. Going forward, I plan to start focusing on the "shorter" long trails. I want to highlight trails that people can attempt in two weeks or less or even section hike as time allows.
